I saw it at the Meeting this week and was horrified at how corporate and commercial it was, plus all the tourism stuff like kids getting photos with Caleb and Sophia, so wondered if it's possible to download or at least view again online somewhere?

Today's W.T on GB not being inspired is having ZERO impact on most J.W's
by Isambard Crater inthe congregation i attend had it's watchtower study on thursday night because of l.d.c work this week-end, and another congregation i have some not very spiritual friends in had their watchtower study on wednesday.
from what i have delicately prised out of people, the congregations loved the watchtower study this week, saying it was so encouraging and all the usual stuff, with no-one seeming to realise the g.b.
said they're not inspired, so the spirit int he past has moved them to teach wrong things, and all the other ideas excellently summed up on reddit.. today's watchtower will wash over the heads of most j.w's like it never even happened, the all remaining as loyal as ever, and it makes me so, so sad..

Deflated after realising my inactive friends are POMI
by Isambard Crater ini'm going through an extremely hard and dark time right now and really yearned for the support of people i know in the flesh, and i really thought revealing my serious doubts and frustrations to a few close friends who became inactive several years ago would help.
they attend the memorial and no more than 2 sunday meetings each year, and haven't preached for several years, so are still technically baptised-but-inactive.. it broke my heart or at least left me feeling very alone when they all (they don't know each other and live in separate areas) told me that they can sympathise but reckon i should stay with "the truth" (their words, still) as it's the best thing there is.
it's like i'd discovered a new group of people, not pimo (physically in, mentally out, like me) but pomi (physically out, mentally in).

The "truth" still has such a hold over some people, but clearly not enough to motivate them to actually attend meetings and all the other stuff.

Do you feel that you are really YOU?
by UnshackleTheChains ini am interested in finding out how you view yourself.
are really you when it comes to every day interactions....ie when at work, with family or friends, or if attending meetings?.
if still attending, do you feel you are not the real you at meetings?
-
Isambard Crater
Yes, totally. I'm PIMO (physically in, mentally out) and trying to fade. I have had to repress my true self at meetings and when associating with family, because otherwise I'd be DF'ed. It's really, really hard and has made me suicidal in recent times.
The hardest bit is seeing relatives, friends and congregants who are besotted with the organisation simply seeming unable to see the hypocrisy and other problems, leaving me feeling like it's ME who has the problem and is the idiot.

JW news release and deception - The "High-Profile Case" in Russia
by jwleaks ini found this interesting bit of news release propaganda by the jws on their website dated april 5, 2017.. "russia's supreme court begins high-profile case against jehovah's witnesses".
https://www.jw.org/en/news/releases/by-region/russia/supreme-court-begins-case-against-jehovahs-witnesses/.
my interest was piqued by the jw claim that the court hearing is a "high-profile case".

The rather grander photo including Putin has been published by other online newspapers, though, so it's not just the J.W's using I don't think?

UK Memorial attendances up this year?!
by Isambard Crater inmy congregation had around 25 more people at the memorial last night than last year, and the two other congregations i have family in all experienced a similar increase in about 25 more people present.
umm, i'm surprised, having thought this year would see a memorial decline again.
and i'm kind of disappointed..

Since I posted this originally, I contacted friends in 5 other congregations and all their attendances were 15-20% higher than last year, too.
I asked if anyone came off the public invitations and the responses were all no. The numbers were made up of extended family, submarines, inactive and DF ones.
It's a shame they're all believing the crap about Russia and Trump meaning the Big A is so near, when the attack on false religion looks much less likely than North Korea, America and Syria all being at war soon.
As you've said, though, the real gauge is how many of the ones who came to the memorial attend the special talk, and even more importantly, the weekly CLAM and Sunday meetings after that. My reckoning is hardly any.
The notion that extended family and submarine people will still be saved by attending the memorial once a year enrages me so much, as it's so easy for them if this is true, compared to the dubs who are either mentally still in or PIMO like me but pretend for family reasons, which is doubly hard. I'd much rather just go to the memorial once a year if I knew Jehovah will love me like they tell all the studies and relatives.

Was it just me or was something different about the memorial last night?
by kpop inthis was the first memorial that i declined to do any work for the memorial.
i was assigned as a parking attendant after getting downgraded from doing the sound and had no intention of doing either task but i had to attend for my family and continuation of my fade.
i sat there last night listening to the talk and couldn't help but shake my head as my brain attempted to process the bs.

But, despite all the reports of this year's memorial being lacklustre both in terms of delivering invitations and in the attitude of the people who attended, I've texted friends in five other congregations and all of them are reporting attendances 15-20% up on last year! Which saddens me, as it maybe means lots of family members and studies are believing the crap about the end being so near because of Russia and Trump, when nobody has attacked false religion yet.

Jehovah doesn't want anyone to die + draws people?!
by Isambard Crater inif the two scriptures i have in mind about him not desiring anyone to die, and drawing those he wants to be his people, how come he draws so very, very few, especially in the western world?
it's like he hardly wants anyone, judging by the one or two he "draws" into u.k congregations every couple of years.
#confused.
